This is a comment sent to WRH after the writer saw this video.
1) If this was a video of an 11 year old from ANY OTHER country knowing how to do this so well practiced, there would be cries of child soldiers being trained to fight against Americans, child abuses as clearly they are militarizing her, etc. But in america, its just almost natural looking that a girl would so CASUALLY demonstrate her knowledge of MILITARY equipment! Like it's normal for children to have access to military equipment. Reminds me of the children bomb signers in Israel.
2) I'd love to ask her exactly what age she plans to be when she makes her first HUMAN kill, or has she already done so. After all, one can't say she learned her gun enthusiasm through hunting. This is an assault rifle. Used for hunting is absurd unless you americans have some SERIOUSLY pissed off animals! If it's just target practice for fun, I ask her again what she's practicing to shoot with her military gun.
3) While I see your points for having everyone access to a weapon for self defense (police after all are useless for protection), I see the sheer obsession with guns, and you americans have to ask yourself, If you need access to a military assault rifle for defense, you are living in one screwed up country! If you just THINK you do, then you are paranoid to the extreme. All other reasons for the gun are to attack, which is psychotic. So which it is gun nuts, are you paranoid, psychotic, or just have no faith in your own fellow Americans? Really now, a simpler weapon would be enough.
4) Seems the problems in your culture are always solved through violence and guns, even on a local neighbourhood level. You encourage everyone to be armed and to just start shooting whenever required. Diplomacy, peaceful solutions, they are always secondary first reaction is to reach for the gun. Your culture jokes about it (the redneck on the porch with the shotgun), the troopers and border agents always hand on the gun even in a traffic stop, always insisting that everyone needs the right to bear arms, etc. So WHY is it so shocking when you see your countries leaders starting wars indiscriminately with shoot first politics, and WHY is it so shocking when you see school shootings, and WHY is it so shocking when other countries are trying to get nuclear arms (big guns on an international scale) when your own culture can't shut up about how important it is??? Don't you see how silly you look?

At least 8000 people of all ethnicities and ages were present and there were no empty seats. This anonymous person was giving useful information - for which I say thank you and Happy Halloween.

Just when you thought the whole "I can see Russia from Alaska" thing couldn't get any funnier...CNN's Gary Tuchman delivers the goods: it turns out that Sarah Palin has NEVER seen Russia from Alaska.
Tuchman went up to the part of Alaska from which you can actually see Russia, a remote island called Little Diomede located just 2.4 miles from its Russian twin, Big Diomede.
It turns out Gary Tuchman's trip to Little Diomede sets him apart from Sarah Palin -- because she's never actually been there, nor has she set eyes on its neighbor in Russia.
Tuchman says that only 150 people live on Little Diomede, and that the town of Diomede has no streets and no cars. The poverty rate is over 40%, there is no television, and the only practical way to reach it is by helicopter. Anchorage (near Palin's hometown) is 550 miles away.
No Alaskan governor has ever visited Little Diomede, though indicted U.S. Senator Ted Stevens has made the trip. The town's residents barely knew who Palin was, and one of them didn't know she was the VP nominee.
It's going to be fun watching McCain-land spin this one, and it's going to be even more fun watching Tina Fey parody it.

Joe the Plumber says an Obama vote means death to Israel

The all-out effort from John McCain's presidential campaign to scare voters into backing the Republican candidate continued apace on Tuesday as McCain surrogate Joe the Plumber agreed that a Barack Obama presidency would mean the "death of Israel" and end democracy in America.
The Ohio plumber, who has no license and is actually named Samuel Wurzelbacher, spoke at a McCain campaign event in Columbus Monday. A McCain supporter asked if "a vote for Obama is a vote for the death of Israel." JTP hardly batted an eye.
"I'll go ahead and agree with you on that," Wurzelbacher said.
The push-back against Wurzelbacher's comments began, somewhat unexpectedly, at Fox News.
The network noted that the McCain campaign seemed hesitant to distance itself from Wurzelbacher. Correspondent Carl Cameron said that the McCain campaign was going to put out an ad today criticizing Obama policies on Israel.
"Just a coincidence?" he asked. "We report you decide."
Later Tuesday afternoon, Shepard Smith pressed Wurzelbacher on his comments, reminding the woefully misinformed McCain backer that Obama has consistently voiced support for Israel. Pressed several times to explain how he could agree with the conclusion that Obama would lead to the death of the Jewish state, Wurzelbacher was unable to come up with any good reasons aside from Obama's position in favor of negotiating with rogue regimes such as Iran.
"You don't want my opinion on foreign policy," Wurzelbacher said. "I know just enough to kind of be dangerous."
Smith seemed to agree with that assessment, implying that the only source for Wurzelbacher and the supporter's concern was "hateful things spread on the Internet." The host clearly worried that Wurzelbacher's endorsement of such a view might inspire violence against the candidate.
Why, Smith asked, would Wurzelbacher believe Obama was lying when he spoke of the importance of Israel's relationship with the United States.
Wurzelbacher was flummoxed. All he could offer was an appeal for people to "go out and find their own reasons ... go out and get informed."
If only the "plumber" had bothered to take his own advice before jumping onto the national stage. Smith, for his part, made sure to set his audience straight on the facts.
"I just want to make this 100 percent perfectly clear, Barack Obama has said repeatedly and demonstrated repeatedly that Israel will always be a friend of the United States, no matter what happens once he becomes President of the United States, his words," Smith said after the interview ended. "The rest of it, man, it just gets frightening sometimes."
In Ohio, Wurzelbacher went on to reiterate McCain's attempts to paint Obama as a socialist, The Associated Press reports.
"I'm honestly scared for America," Wurzelbacher said.
He later said Obama would end the democracy that the U.S. military had defended during wars.
"I love America. I hope it remains a democracy, not a socialist society. ... If you look at spreading the wealth, that's honestly right out of Karl Marx's mouth," Wurzelbacher said.
"No one can debate that. That's not my opinion. That's fact."
McCain's campaign has used the "spread the wealth" line to attack Obama ever since the Democratic candidate used it to inartfully describe his tax proposals.
The attempts to compare Obama's relatively modest restructuring of the progressive tax system to Marxism strikes most reasonable observers as patently absurd, but the attack seems to be all the foundering McCain campaign has left. Obama's proposal would raise the tax rate on income above $250,000 from 36 to 39 percent and lower taxes for middle-class Americans.
McCain's campaign also has heavily courted Jewish voters, who will be a crucial voting bloc in Florida and other swing states.
Wurzelbacher's agreement that Obama would portend the death of Israel, though, seems to go beyond rhetoric the McCain campaign has employed so far. Until Tuesday, that kind of fear-mongering was mostly limited to right-wing blogs.
The McCain campaign said Wurzelbacher and the supporter's views were there own regarding Israel, but they did not forcefully repudiate the attack, Fox News's Carl Cameron reported just after the rally.
A Republican National Committee spokesman later gave Fox a longer statement that largely skirted the issue.
"While he's clearly his own man, so far Joe has offered some penetrating and clear analysis that cuts to the core of many of the concerns that people have with Barack Obama's statements and policies," RNC spokesman Jeff Sadosky said. "Whether it is Obama's willingness to sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, or his plans to redistribute the paychecks of hardworking Americans, there is good reason to question the judgment that Obama would bring to the Oval Office."
Cameron noted the statement "doesn't say whether or not McCain agrees" with Wurzelbacher and the supporter and said McCain "won't go too far" to distance himself from the man who's become a campaign centerpiece.

If there's one thing both the McCain and Obama campaigns agree on it's that the election will be close in Florida. The McCain campaign says it has more volunteers than the Democrats and that ultimately gives them the edge. McCain's Central Florida Campaign Manger says ACORN and the Democrats have to rely on paid workers.
However, the McCain campaign is hiring paid workers who sometimes also call themselves volunteers. The UpTake's Sam Mayfield talked to a few of them... and that's when one McCain campaign worker decided you shouldn't see what is going on and threatened to have her arrested.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the JAGs that are out and about asking people to fill out absentee voting forms and promising they will return those votes to the election office. This is happening in Jacksonville, Florida.

Mccain was born in Panama in 1936 but he was NOT made a US citizen until congress passed a law in 1937. (a military base is NOT US soil).

If Congress has to make it legal - then he was not a natural born citizen in the first place - so he is NOT eligible.
One other thing - about Military bases -
"7 FAM 1116.1-4 Not Included in the Meaning of "In the United States" (TL:CON-64; 11-30-95)
...c. Despite widespread popular belief, U.S. military installations abroad and U.S. diplomatic or consular facilities are not part of the United States within the meaning of the 14th Amendment. A child born on the premises of such a facility is not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States and does NOT acquire U.S. citizenship."
US military bases, consulates and embassies are NOT US soil. How interesting.
Therefore any child born in one of the above facilities is ONLY a US citizen if his parents are US citizens.
The law says nothing about being a natural born citizen.
It's an interesting question as to whether the 1790 law still applies in light of the fact that U.S. nationality law is now solely within the purview of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C) Act of June 27, 1952, As Amended.
This is the 1790 act.

The requirements for the Presidency are that the candidate be a "Natural Born" citizen. The grey area for McCain is that he was born of two American parents, which makes him automatically an American citizen, but he was born outside the United States, so his citizenzhip is technical, not Natural Born.
Congress did pass a law making births in the Canal Zone legally equivelant to being born inside the United States (1937), but that law was passed after McCain's birth, therefore it does not apply. The Senate, via a "Sense of the Senate" bill (see S.RES.511 above) declared McCain a natural born citizen by fiat. Just how much weight that would have if McCain's citizenship ever wound up before the US Supreme Court is open to debate, but if McCain loses the election and tries to challenge on the basis of claims that Obama is not a natural-born citizen, then McCain's own grey birth will come back to haunt him and we might wind up with Ron Paul after all! :)

In Laredo Texas, this violation of our rights is a way of life. Post 9/11, the questioning has gotten more invasive even after citizenship has been established and Fido hasn't alerted to anything illegal. But is immigration enforcement the true mission of the CBP? Apparently not, according to Carlos X. Carrillo, the BP chief in Laredo. The words straight from his mouth are:
"The Border Patrol's job is not to stop illegal immigrants.
The Border Patrol's job is not to stop narcotics.
The Border Patrol's mission is not to stop criminals.
The Border Patrol's mission is to stop terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the country."

You’re driving along a remote, dusty road, when suddenly you come upon a border patrol checkpoint. There, agents demand to see your identity papers, and search your car. You are taken by surprise, because you know you haven’t wandered across the Texas-Mexico border. In fact, you’re quite sure of that, because you’re driving through rural Wisconsin countryside west of Green Bay. Even the Canadian border is more than 90 miles away.
This scene is not as far-fetched as you might want to believe. The government is turning vast swaths of our country into a “Constitution-Free Zone” in which U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is allowed to exercise extraordinary authority that would not normally be permitted under the Constitution. The government says that “the border” — where there is a longstanding view that the Constitution does not fully apply — actually stretches 100 miles inland from the nation’s “external boundary.” And increasingly, we are seeing DHS vigorously utilize that authority.
Today (23 Oct 2008) we held a press conference at the National Press Club here in D.C. to try to draw attention to this problem — and the fact that, as we showed, nearly two-thirds of the U.S. population live within this “Constitution-Free Zone.” That’s 197.4 million people.
We calculated this using the most recent, 2007 numbers from the U.S. Census, and released a map showing the cities and states that are enveloped by this zone. It includes some of the largest metropolitan areas in the country: New York City, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon. States that are completely within this Constitution-Free Zone include Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Rhode Island. When you say “border,” they think “all of New England.”
CBP has been setting up checkpoints far inland — on highways in states such as California, Texas and Arizona, and at ferry terminals in Washington State. Typically, the agents ask drivers and passengers about their citizenship. People are also reporting that even after they provide passports or state driver’s licenses, CBP continues to interrogate them and try to pressure them into permitting a search.
At our press conference today in the National Press Club here in DC, two U.S. citizens described their experiences with CBP.
Vince Peppard, a retired social worker, told of being stopped and harassed by the border authorities at least 15 miles from the Mexico border with his wife, Berlant. [She is from Syria and this is the letter of complaint that Vince wrote after the incident]
Craig Johnson, a music professor at a San Diego college, told how he participated in a peaceful demonstration near the border to protest against the destruction of a state park so that a fence could be constructed along the U.S. border. CBP agents monitored the protest and collected the license plate information of those who participated. Since this protest, Mr. Johnson has twice crossed the US-Mexico border and, each time, he has been pulled aside for additional screening. He was taken to another room, handcuffed and questioned. On his first crossing, he was also partially stripped and subjected to a body cavity search. A CBP agent also told Mr. Johnson that he was on an “armed and dangerous” list. Before the protest, Mr. Johnson crossed the US-Mexico border numerous times without incident. It is difficult to believe that his subsequent harassment at the border is unrelated to his protest activity. If it is related, that would constitute a significant abuse.
Congress needs to hold hearings to investigate these egregious violations of Americans’ civil liberties, and then pass new laws protecting Americans’ rights.
I guarantee you that if these powers are not challenged, if the American people do not push back, sooner or later a factory worker in southern New Hampshire, a farmer in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, or yes, some guy driving across rural Wisconsin, will wake up to find that they have lost their right to go about their business, and travel around inside their own country, without interference from the authorities.

John Cleese on Sarah Palin

John Cleese is a British comedian. He was in the James Bond movies as the new Q, starting with The World Is Not Enough (1999), in which he began as R before graduating to Q. Cleese also used to be in the British Monty Python comedy group which also included Michael Palin. Michael Palin is the one who now does the various trips around the world and makes documentaries of the trips. These documentaries are very interesting as well.

Fact checking Sarah Palin's VP debate

In a string of interviews and in the much-hyped vice-presidential debate, Sarah Palin has perfected the art of palinizing. The tactic is a painfully transparent political filibuster of sorts. When Palin is presented with a question she either does not understand or that she does not want to answer truthfully, she opens her mouth and out pours a waterfall of GOP buzzwords, cascading haphazardly from her lips and leaving listeners drenched in the horrific realization that this small-town mayor turned newbie governor from Alaska is, quite simply, both an idiot and a liar.
Palinizing is above all the art of distraction, with the goal of diverting attention away from a fault (in Palins case, ignorance) and towards the glittering veneer of hollow talking points which dazzle but do nothing in terms of answering the question presented. For Palins most ardent fans, the evasiveness is perceived as a much-deserved slap in the face to the "mainstream" media. For her detractors and even those who are ambivalent towards her, Palins verbal hopscotch is infuriating.
At the debate, Palin was in full form, so much so that she brazenly told moderator Gwen Ifill that no, she was not going to answer the question posed. She then proceeded to read from her notecards the attack scripted by the hands of another—that Barack Obama was a dangerous liberal, or that he would raise the "white flag of surrender." This weeks SNL parody, painfully mirroring truth, had Tina Fey telling moderator Queen Latifah that, "no thank you," she would "ignore" the questions and talk about what she wanted to talk about instead.
On the other side of the stage, Joe Biden delivered attacks of his own. But the quality of his attacks were, as so much was that night, much different in style and substance than those of his opponent. In answering the questions posed—and yes, Biden did answer them--he unleashed on McCain, methodically dissecting the "maverick" myth and thrashing McCains policy proposals. He frequently praised McCains personal character—so much so that that in itself became a subject of parody on Saturday Night Live.
Bidens attacks were advocacy-oriented, which Palins were adversary-oriented. When Biden lashed out, even when referencing McCain, he did so for or against policy proposals and political philosophies. When Palin lashed out, she lashed out at Obama or Biden, as individuals.
In other words, when Biden attacked, one felt as if he was speaking on behalf of a middle class full of indignation at the status quo. When Palin attacked, one felt as if she was speaking on behalf of herself, and John McCain, the "team of mavericks."..She meandered around a field of GOP buzzwords until she stumbled upon a clearing where she could squeeze in one of the assembled attacks on her cards. It was fierce Republican politics. It was farce.
Fast forward to the weekend after the debate. It has become clear that Palins Cliff Notes performance was neither enough to salvage her reputation among the general electorate nor enough to rescue McCains ailing presidential campaign. Just as Palin was when asked the most basic of questions what do you read, what Supreme Court case do you disagree with, what is your view on the Bush Doctrine — the McCain camp is cornered. And just as the vice-presidential nominee has done time and time again, the McCain campaign is palinizing.
The American people are asking of the candidates a serious question: how will you put our country back on track? Rather than provide a direct answer, the McCain campaign has exhibited a wholesale embrace of the tactic that Palin has made legend: it is attempting the change the subject to distract from the fact that it has no acceptable answer to the question posed. And like Palin, who so flippantly boasted that no, she would not answer the question posed, the McCain campaign has made no effort to hide the fact that it is going negative precisely to avoid a debate on the issues, a debate which it has until now decidedly lost.
And so, we welcome again the William Ayers attacks into the campaign. Surely, the resurrection of the Ayers issue will be accompanied by the second coming of the Wright issue and the Rezko issue as Republicans attempt to shed a negative light on Obamas character.

McCain on Letterman admits he screwed up

In late September, McCain bailed out on the Letterman show.
This week McCain finally kept the appointment with Letterman.
At least McCain admits he screwed up.
And he is STILL interrupting!! McCain is a HYPOCRITE.
It really BUGS me just how rude McCain is!!!!!

Below is Keith Olbermann's view of what happened on Letterman. If you remember he was the person called on to replace McCain when he bailed out and went to Los Angeles instead. It is also interesting to note that McCain never once apologises. Yes he accepts responsibility, but is not sorry about his behaviour.

John McCain is a gambler. So he took a gamble and went on the David Letterman show last night. It should be the final straw that pulls the support out from under him.
The gamble was a huge failure-- a massive error in judgment. It is clear that McCain failed to assess he depth or risk of the gamble-- just how much he could be hurt, how bad he would look in so many ways.

Watching McCain sit under Letterman's masterful manipulations, it was uncomfortable. He was, as the huffingtonpost described, grovelling, totally out of control, weak, helpless, foolish and in the hands and total control of Letterman, like a snivelling little child caught with his hands in the cookie jar.
Letterman was brilliant, doing the job that far too many "news" anchors have failed to do, asking tough questions.
McCain was like a helpless puppy, overwhelmed and adrift at sea, unable to get a grip on the conversation. The thought of him facing a leader of another nation, or of a cabinet of grownups with serious responsibiities-- seemed very remote. Perhaps it makes his faith in Sarah Palin somewhat believable. He was so out of his depth, dealing with a smart talk-show host, that perhaps he really does see Palin as competent to do the job of president, based on his own woefully inadequate abilities.
Observing McCain, helpless, dominated by Letterman, helps one to understand how he allowed his campaign to be taken over by Rovian operatives so the McCain persona which so many Americans had grown to love and appreciate, was obliterated and replaced by a waffling, erratic, meanspirited political hack. The reason is simple. McCain is not strong enough to stand up to a strong person. His pathetic act on the Letterman show should be obvious to any voter who has ever had an open mind. McCain demonstrated once and for all that even Sarah Palin is more presidential than he is.

A long campaign and economic uncertainty can stress out anyone, whether he's a 72-year-old presidential candidate or just some average retirement-age guy who's trying to keep nine houses and a dozen cars running in tough economic times.
However, when he came out with his recent macho swagger about fear, we felt it was time to intervene. Specifically, he gave a prescription for fear that is dangerous. It's a method of dealing with fear that will drive you nuts if it doesn't kill you first. If you missed the actual quote, he said, "I know what fear feels like...I know what hopelessness feels like. I felt those things once before. I WILL NEVER LET THEM IN AGAIN..."
Straight-Talk Expresso
We feel compassion for him and the circumstances that brought him to make the fateful choice to seal out his emotions. It's a serious problem for him health-wise, but when he seeks to inflict it on the rest of us, it's time to set him straight. If you won't acknowledge the existence of fear, you can't tell the difference between what you're really scared about and what you think you're scared about. You think life is dangerous, but the reality is just the opposite: you're dangerous to life.
Being driven by fear forces McCain/Palin to run a campaign based on fear. Their goal is not to convince people that they have a better plan for the future, but to make people scared to vote for the other guy.
There are a lot of things people are scared about right now:
•They're scared about losing their homes.
•They're scared about losing their jobs.
•They're scared the Republicans are going to steal the election. In fact, we've heard several people say that they're praying for a landslide, because otherwise the Republicans will find some way to steal it. If you think that's slightly paranoid, you're probably not a Democrat.
McCain/Palin want us to forget about our real fears and focus on something unreal. McCain/Palin want us to be scared about what they want us to be scared about. They have an advantage, because the things they want us to be scared about are a lot more fun than the things we're really scared about:
•McCain/Palin want us to be scared that Obama is "the other," so they say he is
not like us, not a real American.
•They want us to be scared that Obama might secretly worship another god.
•They want us to be scared that Obama pals around with terrorists and gets his spiritual counsel from an America-hating minister.
It's more fun to be scared about those things because it gives you the opportunity to blame somebody else for the fear. When you point the finger at someone else, it relieves the pressure inside you. If we're scared about those things, maybe we'll forget about what we're really scared about. McCain/Palin are saying: it's a jungle out there, folks, and let's make sure we keep it that way.
As budding psychotherapists 35 years ago, we were taught the essentials of how to help our clients deal with fear. The key principle can be stated simply: what you resist, persists. If you hold fear at arm's length, if you seal it out of your awareness, you sentence yourself to living every moment in a prison of fear. The more you try to seal it out, the more it pervades your life. The stonewall barrier McCain has proudly built to keep out his fear makes him a prisoner inside his own arrogance. His stubborn unwillingness to let in the normal human emotion of fear makes him propelled by it. In the Pink Floyd phrase, he's "blown on the steel breeze."
This much we can tell you from working up-close with more than twenty thousand people: The only real solution to fear is to let yourself acknowledge it and feel it until it dissipates. Fear is natural. Your body spent hundreds of thousands of years perfecting it. It's there to tell you important things like these:
There's a potential threat--pay attention.
There's a problem I don't have a solution to--look for one quick!
When you're scared, look to see if there's a real threat. Figure out what the problem is and get creative about solving it. Get good at distinguishing between real threats and imaginary threats we make up in our minds. Don't use the McCain Prescription for fear, by shutting it out of your awareness. For the sake of his health and for the safety of the rest of us, he should take counsel from another war hero, Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf: "Any man who doesn't cry scares me a little." That's a piece of useful wisdom, and it points to why John McCain scares a lot of people.
If we could counsel John McCain at this moment in history, when he has squandered much of the honor and good will Americans used to grant him, we'd embrace him, look him in the eye and say this:
"Go ahead and let yourself feel scared. It's normal, it's human and it helps you connect with the rest of us. When you feel scared, let yourself feel it. Breathe with it. Dance with it. Above all, don't tempt the universe by shaking a fist at fear and saying that you will not acknowledge its existence. Doing that puts you on a collision course with the forces of nature, like shaking your fist at thunder and saying you're never going to listen to it again. Instead, let your fear in. Speak about it to the ones you love. If you're out in public, speak about it to them, too. Ultimately, love is the best cure for fear. If you really want to have a great relationship with yourself and other people, love your fear just as it is, and watch the miracles that unfold as a result."
What happens when you let yourself feel your fear is that it opens up a direct connection to your creativity. The more you're willing to open up and embrace your fear, the more creativity flows through you. We would never have believed that remarkable fact until we experienced the truth of it ourselves and saw it work its magic on many other people.
An Integrity Problem
Being cut off from fear or any emotion puts you out of integrity with yourself. As one our mentors, Jack Downing, M.D., put it, "Integrity glitches cause body twitches." The source of John McCain's odd display of twitches, jaw-clenches and chilly grins is a fault-line gap of integrity at the center of himself, a place where he has cut himself off from fear and the rest of us. He wants to become a super hero, The Man Without Fear. That's not a bad idea for a cartoon, but in real life it would be a disaster. In real life, we need real heroes, people who are willing to acknowledge fear and look within it, to the gift it brings.
The gift fear brings is the opportunity to love it and thereby grow our capacity for love and creativity. Sometimes our fears get so great that love is the only thing that will put those fears to rest. We all need to become experts at dealing with fear right now. We need to let ourselves feel our fears in a spirit of loving acceptance, so that our willingness to embrace our fears opens the floodgates of creativity that we will need to solve the problems we all face.
There's a lot of fear in the air right now to deal with. To make matters worse, the McCain/Palin campaign is working overtime to increase the amount of fear in our lives. McCain/Palin's handlers know that the more scared they can make people, the more easily people can be manipulated into voting against their own interests and good judgment.
John McCain has been roundly criticized of late for sowing seeds of fear and hate. It's going to be hard to talk him out of that tactic, though, because it got George W. Bush elected twice. We don't know yet if McCain will change tactics again and try to convince us that the pit bulls he's unleashed are actually nice puppy dogs. We should be skeptical of this tactic, though, because as the old saying goes, you can take the lipstick off a pit bull, but it's still a hockey mom underneath, or something like that.
So we all need to Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway .

The source of John McCain's odd display of twitches, jaw-clenches and chilly grins is a fault-line gap of integrity at the center of himself, a place where he has cut himself off from fear and the rest of us. He wants to become a super hero, The Man Without Fear. That's not a bad idea for a cartoon, but in real life it would be a disaster. In real life, we need real heroes, people who are willing to acknowledge fear and look within it, to the gift it brings.
The gift fear brings is the opportunity to love it and thereby grow our capacity for love and creativity. Sometimes our fears get so great that love is the only thing that will put those fears to rest. We all need to become experts at dealing with fear right now. We need to let ourselves feel our fears in a spirit of loving acceptance, so that our willingness to embrace our fears opens the floodgates of creativity that we will need to solve the problems we all face.
There's a lot of fear in the air right now to deal with. To make matters worse, the McCain/Palin campaign is working overtime to increase the amount of fear in our lives. McCain/Palin's handlers know that the more scared they can make people, the more easily people can be manipulated into voting against their own interests and good judgment.
John McCain has been roundly criticized of late for sowing seeds of fear and hate. It's going to be hard to talk him out of that tactic, though, because it got George W. Bush elected twice. We don't know yet if McCain will change tactics again and try to convince us that the pit bulls he's unleashed are actually nice puppy dogs. We should be skeptical of this tactic, though, because as the old saying goes, you can take the lipstick off a pit bull, but it's still a hockey mom underneath, or something like that.
So we all need to Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway .

Joe the Plumber was beseiged by the media in Ohio today. Everyone wanted to know who he was, and uh oh - some rather startling details began showing up. So now the question is - Was Joe the Plumber a plant? This is Joe's 15 minutes of fame - if he was not a plant.
According to Lucas County, Ohio court records, there is a Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher who has a state income tax lien of $1,182.98. According to the court record he lives on a street that is part of the Lincoln Green subdivision.
And Joe the Plumber's Father appears to be Robert Wurzelbacher right wing fanatic and contributor who is the son in law of..... you're not going to believe this. Charles Keating.
Joe is 34 years old, he is a single dad and he is NOT a plumber. He is just a plumbers helper becasue you dont need to be a licensed plumber iof you are working for someone else. And his income is around $40,000. Hhe does not own any business, and cant afford to buy any business, so he probably dreams of buying a business that makes $250,000 a year.

Senator Obama was nothing but a gentleman all the way through. He never got angry, he never attacked Senator McCain, and he repudiated McCains lies all the way through. McCain attacked Obama on Ayers and Acorn. Obama never once mentioned the Keating 5 although he had a perfect right to do so.
Senator McCain on the other hand was attacking right from the start. saying anything to show that Obama was a liar. McCain kept repeating the same lies from the previous debates. He even mentioned the "over head projector" at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago - again. Did McCain NOT DO ANY homework?
And then McCain brought up Joe the Plumber. See the video posted yesterday. It looks like Joe the Plumber was probably not a good choice.

Obama: “The fundamentals of the economy were weak”
McCain: Said he doesn’t want to ask Obama a question. He’s talking directly to the people…sounds familiar! Talking about some plumber named Joe who met Obama and wanted to buy some business. Obama would raise his taxes. Now he’s looking at the camera speaking to “Joe”.
Obama: Said it sounds like he’s been listening to McCain ads. Obama explains, yet again, his tax plan. Talks about Joe the Plumber.
McCain: Joe the plumber again. We need to spread the wealth around. He wants Joe the Plumber to spread the wealth around. Why would you want to tax ANYone?
Obama: Wants to cut taxes for 95% of Americans. Warren Buffet can afford to pay a little more, so Joe the Plumber could pay less when he needed it. Nobody likes to pay taxes. He doesn’t mind paying a little more.
Q. Aren’t you both ignoring reality about the deficit? What would you cut back?
Obama: We’ve been living beyond our means and we have to make adjustments. Strong believer in pay as you go. Go through the budget line by line. Investment in the future - health care, energy, education - will all allow us to drive the economy in the future.
McCain: Wants to get back to home ownership. (Palin tactic!) Schieffer tries to get him back to the question. Now he’s on energy (another Palin tactic) - wind, solar, offshore drilling. Across the board spending freeze. First a hatchet and then a scalpel. “I know how to save defense spending” “I know where to cut” Tariffs on sugar cane based ethanol? Somebody in jail, some airline…Blizzard of words! Planetarium projector!
[As an aside, ethanol comes from corn and sugar cane, BUT it creates a food shortage. Food prices have been rising the last 12 months due to people selling food crops to make ethanol and not selling as food.)
Obama: Earmarks account for 1/2 of 1%. Yes we need to eliminate “screwy” things but that’s not the main problem. When Bush came into office we had a surplus. (Yes!) Now we have a deficit of well over 1/2 a trillion. Pursuing same policies will not get us there.
McCain: Thinks he can balance the budget in four years. If Obama wanted to run against Bush, he should have run four years ago. (I bet he was waiting for that one). Let’s look at our records, Senator Obama. (Obama knew he needed time in the senate first to get 'experience" Interestingly enough, I dont think I heard anything about McCains 26 years of experience. Although he did indicate what experience he has had towards the end of the debate.)
Obama: Debunking the Obama raises taxes thing. Even Fox news agrees. McCain has been a major supporter of Bush. Giving credit for his stance against torture, but on economic policies he’s agreed with Bush.
Q. Both pledged to take the high road. Palled around with terrorists!!! Will you say it to each other’s face?
McCain: Been a tough campaign. Ah…it’s Obama’s fault for not agreeing to do Town Hall meetings. Tone of campaign could have been different. He regrets negative aspects of both campaigns. Rebuking Lewis for the George Wallace comments. Obama didn’t repudiate remarks. We will run a truthful campaign. Obama has spent more money on negative ads than any political campaign in history. He said he’d take public financing, and didn’t tell the truth.
Obama: We expect campaigns to be tough. 2/3 think McCain is running a negative campaign. 1/3 think I am. Nothing wrong with debate on issues. American people don’t want to hear about how hurt we are. Town Hall issue is rediculous. McCain campaign said if they talk about the economy they lose.
McCain: Didn’t hear a repudiation of Lewis. Joe the plumber again.
Obama: Lewis made his statement without the knowledge of the campaign. Talking about the Palin rally. “Kill him!” “Terrorist” and she didn’t call them out. Think that Lewis inappropriately drew a comparison. Immediately put out a statement saying a statement it was inappropriate. What the American people want is to focus on challenges. When people suggest “I pal around with terrorists” we’re not talking about issues.
McCain: He’s proud of the crowds at the rallies. He won’t stand for anyone saying his crowds are anything but patriotic wonderful Americans.
Obama: If we’re going to solve 2 wars, financial crisis, lifting wages, then we have to work together. We can’t try to characterize each other as bad people.
McCain: I don’t care about a washed-up old terrorist, but we need to know about it and about Acorn. Tearing apart the fabric of the country!
Obama: Ayers has become primary focus of McCain’s campaign. Brilliant explanation of Ayers and Acorn.
McCain: All the details need to be known! Ayers, Acorn, Ayers Acorn. My campaign is all about goodness and light, and not raising taxes.
Q. Why would we be better off with your running mate?
Obama: Experience, foreign policy, crime bill, violence against women act. Hasn’t forgotten where he comes from. Shares the same values. Lists them.
McCain: American’s have gotten to know Sarah Palin. Role model to women. Took on her own party. Saw corruption. Gave money to taxpayers. Cut size of government. Faced down oil companies. Reformer through and through. Sweep out old boy network. Understands reform. Understands special needs families. I’m proud of her. She’s ignited our party. I can’t tell you how proud I am of her. Her husband is a pretty tough guy.
Q. Is your opponent’s VP qualified?
Obama: The American people will decide.
McCain: Biden is qualified but wrong. Obama wants to increase your taxes.
Q. How much can we reduce foreign oil imports? Give me a number.
McCain: Canadian oil is fine, but we need to eliminate Middle Eastern oil and Venezuelan oil. Mocking energy safety. “You don’t tell people your going to renegotiate NAFTA…”
Obama: In 10 years we can reduce dependence so we don’t have to import oil from M.E. or Venezuela. This is the most important issue. Borrowing from China and sending it to Saudi Arabia. Expand domestic production. Use or lose current leases. We can’t drill our way out of the problem. Solar wind biodiesel, geothermal. Fuel efficient car built in USA.
McCain: ”There’s another example of Senator Obama’s eloquence, but you have to look at words.” Obama has never even traveled south of our border. Maybe you should travel down there and you’d understand it.
Obama: Actually I understand it pretty well. Proceeds to prove he knows it pretty well.
Well, we knew this wouldn’t be a game changer for McCain and it isn’t. This debate is more of the same. Obama is undeniably presidential, and McCain is agitated and cranky.
McCain: Obama wants to sit down across the table without precondition with __________. (In this case Hugo Chavez). Did he mention that Obama wants to raise taxes? Comparing Obama to Herbert Hoover. Again. He simply cannot invoke Herbert Hoover without sounding really old. For Obama it would sound like a history lesson. But McCain makes it sound like they were buddies back in the day.
Q. Healthcare.
Obama: This issue will break your heart. Explains plan.
McCain: Painful for Americans. Explains plan. Joe the Plumber AGAIN! and AGAIN! Man, if anyone came up with Joe the Plumber for a drinking game, you’d be smashed. How much will you fine people for no health care?
Obama: Joe the Plumber! There is no fine. Joe the Plumber! McCain will tax health care benefits from employer. Average policy costs $12,000, so $5000 won’t help much.
McCain: Joe the Plumber x 3! This is getting really ridiculous. I think Joe the Plumber has become the defining name of this debate. He’s the “that one” of debate III. SNL will love it. Squabbling about money. He’s bringing up cosmetic surgery and hair transplants again. Joe the Plumber. Too much government. Government is too big. Democrats have been in charge for the last two years. (Democrats have just rubberstamped everything Bush wants - they have NOT done anything to STOP Bush).
Obama: Reiterates what he has already said. Don’t take my word for it. Listen to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Joe the Plumber…
Q. Roe v. Wade. Could you nominate someone to the Supreme Court who didn’t share your views?
McCain: Decision should rest with states. Roe v. Wade was bad. Should nominate on qualifications not litmus test. Obama voted against Justice Breyer and Roberts because of ideology. I will find the best people who strictly adhere to the Constitution.
Obama: Shouldn’t apply a strict litmus test. Most important thing is fairness and justice. This will be one of the most consequential decisions of the next president. Roe v. Wade probably hangs in the balance. Thinks that Roe v. Wade was rightly decided. Good people on both sides can disagree. Women are in the best position to make this decision. Thinks it’s a constitutional, rather than state’s rights issues. Court has to stand up for people.
McCain: We have to change the culture of America. We who are proudly pro-life understand that. Obama voted against bills in state senate partial birth abortions…terrible… Voted “present”. How do you align yourself with extreme pro-abortion.
Obama: If it sounds incredible that I would vote to withhold lifesaving treatment from an infant, it’s because it isn’t true. Completely supportive of ban for late term abortions unless there is a threat to the mother’s life. He voted “present” because there was no provision for the mother’s life. There must be common ground where we all say we need to prevent unwanted pregnancy, promiscuity, helping single mothers who want to keep baby. Nobody is pro-abortion.
McCain: He’s being “eloquent again”. “Health” of the mother (made little quote thing with his fingers). This is code for pro-abortion all the time… Of course we have to work together.
Q. Education.
Obama: Early childhood education. Recruit new teachers especially in math and science. More pay. Higher standards. College debt. $4000 tuition credit every year in exchange for military service, peace corps, community service. Parents will have to turn off the TV, and instill thirst for knowledge.
McCain: It’s the civil rights issue of the 21st century. Ah. Vouchers. Choice and competition. Find bad teachers another line of work. Charter schools. Throwing money at the problem isn’t the answer. We must improve. Make loans available.
Obama: Important for gov’t to help schools. No child left behind. They left the money behind. Agree about Charter Schools. Bad teachers need to move on. Disagree on the idea of vouchers as a way of securing problems. Disagree on McCain’s record on college accessibility. Our youth are not an “interest group”.
McCain: Vouchers in D.C. He’s getting pissy… Cindy and “your wife”. Precious children with autism…Sarah Palin knows better than most. Vouchers are good and workable system. (Trig Palin has Downs Syndrome, NOT Autism)
Obama: DC school system is in terrible shape. (Squabble about whether mayor of DC supports vouchers)

Closing statement -
McCain: My friends! America needs a new direction. I have a record of reform. Taking on my party. We have to stop the spending. Can you trust us or not? Examine my record and my proposals for the future of country. I’ve put my country first. Proud to serve. I’d be honored and humbled to serve.
Obama: America is going through tough times. Worst economic crisis since Depression. Worst thing we can do is adopt failed policies and failed politics of the past and expect something different. Our brighter days are still ahead. Need to invest in people. Health care, tax cuts, college, businesses of the future. Fought for these policies. Not easy. Not quick. We all need to come together. Will work tirelessly on your behalf and on behalf of your children.
Whew! Debates are over. McCain was more aggressive, but Obama is the clear winner here. He missed a couple opportunities to really zing Palin. And missed an opportunity to talk about why we actually have to have taxes. But, this was nowhere near a game-changer, which is what McCain needed.
John McCain could not stop talking to Joe the Plumber through the TV screen. By next week, we expect Joe will have his own TV show. As an aside, Joe was mentioned on NPR this morning. He admits that he would not face a tax increase under Obama’s plan, but he’s afraid the income ceiling might be lowered.

Turns out that Joe Wurzelbacher from the Toledo event is a close relative of Robert Wurzelbacher of Milford, Ohio. Who’s Robert Wurzelbacher? Only Charles Keating’s son-in-law and the former senior vice president of American Continental, the parent company of the infamous Lincoln Savings and Loan. The now retired elder Wurzelbacher is also a major contributor to Republican causes giving well over $10,000 in the last few years.
Obama met the now-famous Joe the Plumber (aka Joe Wurzelbacher) in Springfield Township, Ohio, earlier this week as he was shaking hands between rounds of debate prep. Wurzelbacher challenged Obama on his tax plan so vigorously that Obama said afterward, “I’ve got to go prepare for this debate, but that was pretty good practice.” It was practice that came in handy Wednesday night as Obama probably deprived McCain of his best last chance to turn Campaign 2008 back into a horse race.
Glenn Beck - Highlights the Economic Crisis and Martial Law

Like him or loathe him, last night CNN’s Glenn Beck became the only mainstream media source thus far to address on national TV the reality of the situation Americans are facing with the manufactured financial implosion - the direct threat of domestic martial law and a global financial dictatorship.
Beck’s guest, Peter Schiff, respected author of “Crash Proof” and president of the brokerage firm Euro Pacific Capital, joined him in outlining that martial law, the use of armed troops on the streets to quell dissent, is a real possibility should the economic crisis not improve or worsen to the point where civil unrest is fomented.
The following exchange between Beck and Schiff, who was also economic adviser to Ron Paul during his presidential campaign, is from the CNN transcript of last night’s show:
SCHIFF: You know, what`s going to happen, of course, is as inflation starts running out of control and prices start going through the roof, the government again is going to focus on the symptoms and not the disease.
And they`re going to impose price controls on energy, on food, on a lot of other things that are vital, which means shortages, which means long lines, black markets, civil unrest. All this stuff is coming if we don`t stop. [...]
BECK: Peter, let`s talk a little bit about martial law. Why would that even be a consideration?
SCHIFF: Well, I don`t think it was a threat if they had rejected the bailout Bill, but I think it is a possibility a few years down the line. We just spoke a little bit about price controls and the effect that they`re going to have.
If we have shortages of food, if we have rolling blackouts. And people are upset, and they`re hungry, and they`re cold, there could be civil unrest. There could be looting, rioting, and that might be the impetus for the government to declare martial law.
BECK: You know, I don`t think you`re a couple of years away from something like that. I mean, honestly, Peter, I mean, look at what`s happening. In a half hour, I`ve got a congressman on about — about the racism cries. I mean, there are people that are right now so disenfranchised, and I think being encouraged to be disenfranchised on both sides, that at any time this damn thing could break apart.
SCHIFF: Yes. And we`re giving the government so much power. And you know, you give up a lot more civil liberties. When you have martial law and you`ve got the military policing our streets, when you`ve got suspension of habeas corpus, you`ve got curfews, you can`t be out of your house after dark, and they can just pick you up and put you in prison and keep you there indefinitely without charges, and there`s nothing you can do about it?
I mean, we`re giving up one liberty after another, all to protect ourselves from this economic crisis, which needs to happen anyway, but it doesn`t need to be nearly this bad.
BECK: Peter, this is — I mean, we`re in Crazytown, USA. But my gut tells me that, two years down the road — let`s just use that number — this country is not going to look anything like it does today. Our world has changed; it just hasn`t caught up.
During the ten minute segment, Beck and Schiff also pointed out that America is headed for Weimar Republic style hyperinflation at the hands of global bankers, stated that the financial implosion has been manufactured by design, warned that the Treasury has been given dictatorial powers and raised the question of whether the end game is a one world currency and one world financial governance.
Beck also played the now infamous clip of Democratic Congressman Brad Sherman from October 2nd stating that several members of Congress were threatened before the bailout vote that martial law would be instigated in America if the legislation was not passed.

I realise there is no video, but in the interests of FAIR PLAY, I need to add this article to point out that Obama is NOT the ONLY person associating with the "domestic terrorist".

So do you think that Obama is a terrorist JUST because he was once associated with another terrorist. Ayers was trying to stop the Vietnam war. Sure he attempted to bomb various federal buildings - so what? Millions of people worked to stop the Vietnam war. Obama was just a child at the time.
How could Obama ever be called a terrorist JUST BECAUSE he once worked with a fellow who used to be a terrorist.
How many of you know someone who has been in prison.
I do. I have a family member with a prison record for attempted assualt. Does that make me a dangerous criminal just because I have an association with a convicted criminal?
If you said NO, then by the same reasoning, there is NO logical reason to call Obama a terrorist just because he was once associated with a terrorist.

I really must find and read these Books.
Have reserved them at my local library.
Most reviews I see online are slamming Perkins' books, saying that they are lies, that the USA would never act like that. But these destablising acts do fit in with all the world events and so YES the USA does damage other economies deliberately in order to get whatever they want.
