The first half of this video shows what happened before Steven got tasered INSIDE his own car. The second half of this video shows what happened afterwards. Please note that this was a border patrol but they were NOT at a border crossing. This took place 50 miles inside the USA.

The district public safety office have been asked for a comment and they have refused, pending an "internal investigation.

Baptist pastor was tazed repeatedly, his head shoved in broken glass and stamped on by the boot of law enforcement - all while he was begging for mercy. He had his hands covering his eyes after being told "cover your eyes" by border patrol agents - that's when the attack began as he DIDN'T EVEN LIFT A FINGER TO FIGHT BACK OR RESIST.

Can you think of any reason to justify a defenseless man covering his face being beaten and tazed repeatedly by those who are sworn to protect us?

You’re driving along a remote, dusty road, when suddenly you come upon a border patrol checkpoint. There, agents demand to see your identity papers, and search your car. You are taken by surprise, because you know you haven’t wandered across the Texas-Mexico border. In fact, you’re quite sure of that, because you’re driving through rural Wisconsin countryside west of Green Bay. Even the Canadian border is more than 90 miles away.

This scene is not as far-fetched as you might want to believe. The government is turning vast swaths of our country into a “Constitution-Free Zone” in which U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is allowed to exercise extraordinary authority that would not normally be permitted under the Constitution. The government says that “the border” — where there is a longstanding view that the Constitution does not fully apply — actually stretches 100 miles inland from the nation’s “external boundary.” And increasingly, we are seeing DHS vigorously utilize that authority.

Today (23 Oct 2008) we held a press conference at the National Press Club here in D.C. to try to draw attention to this problem — and the fact that, as we showed, nearly two-thirds of the U.S. population live within this “Constitution-Free Zone.” That’s 197.4 million people.


We calculated this using the most recent, 2007 numbers from the U.S. Census, and released a map showing the cities and states that are enveloped by this zone.



It includes some of the largest metropolitan areas in the country: New York City, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon. States that are completely within this Constitution-Free Zone include Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Rhode Island. When you say “border,” they think “all of New England.”

CBP has been setting up checkpoints far inland — on highways in states such as California, Texas and Arizona, and at ferry terminals in Washington State. Typically, the agents ask drivers and passengers about their citizenship. People are also reporting that even after they provide passports or state driver’s licenses, CBP continues to interrogate them and try to pressure them into permitting a search.

At our press conference today in the National Press Club here in DC, two U.S. citizens described their experiences with CBP.

Vince Peppard, a retired social worker, told of being stopped and harassed by the border authorities at least 15 miles from the Mexico border with his wife, Berlant. [She is from Syria and this is the letter of complaint that Vince wrote after the incident]

Craig Johnson, a music professor at a San Diego college, told how he participated in a peaceful demonstration near the border to protest against the destruction of a state park so that a fence could be constructed along the U.S. border. CBP agents monitored the protest and collected the license plate information of those who participated. Since this protest, Mr. Johnson has twice crossed the US-Mexico border and, each time, he has been pulled aside for additional screening. He was taken to another room, handcuffed and questioned. On his first crossing, he was also partially stripped and subjected to a body cavity search. A CBP agent also told Mr. Johnson that he was on an “armed and dangerous” list. Before the protest, Mr. Johnson crossed the US-Mexico border numerous times without incident. It is difficult to believe that his subsequent harassment at the border is unrelated to his protest activity. If it is related, that would constitute a significant abuse.

Congress needs to hold hearings to investigate these egregious violations of Americans’ civil liberties, and then pass new laws protecting Americans’ rights.

I guarantee you that if these powers are not challenged, if the American people do not push back, sooner or later a factory worker in southern New Hampshire, a farmer in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, or yes, some guy driving across rural Wisconsin, will wake up to find that they have lost their right to go about their business, and travel around inside their own country, without interference from the authorities.

Below is a link to a video of police coverage of the protests riots in Portland Oregon on August 22, 2002, where peaceful protesters were hit with batons, pepper sprayed, handcuffed and hauled away to jail. Children were also pepper sprayed. The video is the police force's own video coverage of what happened.

The narration explains why the police videotape crowds at protests, and shows proof that noone threw a bottle or bomb, despite the media repeating a number of times that that is what happened. The police chose to start attacking, when the crowd would not disperse. The people were exercising their rights to protest under the American Constitution. Apparently the Constitution is not longer followed in the USA anymore.

That makes sense, because George Bush was heard to scream Stop throwing the Constitution in my face, It's just a goddamned piece of paper .

The worse thing is that this protest riot happened in 2002. And things are still the same, if not worse, today - over 5 years later. It's going to get a whole lot worse real soon. Count on it. "Be as wise as serpents, but harmless as doves."

The only “hope” I remotely have for America, or human civilization in its entirety, may be realized once peak oil is here and gone. Too much of this fascist system depends upon oil, and the hurt will be on once it is gone. The giant corporations and conglomerates with factories abroad will no longer be able to transport their materials, thereby draining them of money and voiding their threat. Much of the equipment at hospital facilities, construction sites, and production lines will be obsolete due to their dependency on oil for the plastic pieces, thereby forcing all to begin considering other ways to sustain life. I have no doubt that another Black Friday is on its way, and one far more permanent and devastating than the past result of the 1930s.

Upon this economic turn, I plan to be armed with the knowledge for my own personal survival. Permaculture, basic survival skills and self defense are only the very tip of the knowledge that I believe I will need. If I hope to lend a hand in the creation of a new way of life for human kind as well, then the amount of knowledge needed will increase ten fold.

I suppose what I’m trying to preach (because that’s what we all seem to be doing), is LEARN all that you can. Protests won’t save us now. Guns won’t save us now. Police video tape mixed with anti-fascist propaganda won’t save us now. If you do out live the economic turn, the only thing that will save you is *working* knowledge, and there are people doing it everywhere: community gardens, sustainable building, intentional communities, alternative schooling, and so on and so on. Suck it all in now, play with it as much as you can in the “calm before the storm,” because we did not have ancestors and parents to teach us the things we will need to know. WE WILL HAVE TO LEARN IT ALL OURSELVES.

Amend the Constitution to Reflect God's standards.

Huckabee, (January 15th) "I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution. But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living God. And that's what we need to do is amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than trying to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view of how we treat each other and how we treat the family." Whatever happened to keeping Religion OUT of the Government? I totally reject this idea of Huckabee's. Has he read the Bible lately? Theres a lot of killing and adultery in the Bible. Does he want to allow killing and adultery to be legalised? And there is no proof that God does exist. I would not want the Consitution amended to reflect the ancient ideals of a God who has not been proven to exist.
